Get an initial assessment
Speak with a bank or mortgage consultant before committing to a property. An initial assessment is not final approval.
Add up the upfront costs
Allow for the deposit, stamp duties, legal fees and any difference between the price and bank valuation. Keep renovation and moving costs separate.
Set a monthly budget
Choose repayments you can manage alongside other spending. Consider a higher interest rate and a temporary drop in income.
Check the dates
Confirm when deposits, duties and the balance are due. If you are also selling a property, check when the sale proceeds and CPF refund will be available.
